Temporary residence status gives foreign nationals the legal right to live in Armenia for a defined period, with the option to renew annually. Whether you’re relocating for work, business, family, or personal reasons, Armenia offers a clear and accessible path to legal residence.


Who Can Apply for Temporary Residence in Armenia

A foreign national may apply for temporary residence if they fall under one of the following categories:

  • Students enrolled in an Armenian educational institution
  • Holders of a valid Armenian work permit
  • Spouses or close relatives of a permanent or special residence holder
  • Spouses, parents, or children of a temporary residence holder
  • Foreign entrepreneurs conducting business activity in Armenia
  • Ethnic Armenians
  • Other cases provided for by law

Applications may be submitted in person, through an authorized representative, or via a legal representative.


  

Where to Submit a Temporary Residence Application in Armenia

All applications are submitted to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Republic of Armenia.

Temporary Residence Processing Time and Decision Timeline

  • Residence is granted for up to 1 year and renewed annually
  • Decision issued within 30 days of submission
  • Renewal applications must be filed at least 30 days before expiry

How to Collect Your Armenia Residence Card After Approval

If approved, the residence card is issued and collected in person at the Unified Public Services Office — 3 Vazgen Sargsyan Street, Yerevan

If refused, a written decision is delivered by post.
