Required Documents for Temporary Residence in Armenia
Gathering the right documents upfront prevents delays. The standard package includes:
- Completed application form
- Three passport-format photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
- Original passport, a copy, and a notarized Armenian translation
- A medical certificate confirming health status
- Copies of the applicant’s birth certificate, parents’ passports, and parents’ marriage certificate (for verification of Armenian citizenship, where applicable)
- Proof of your lawful entry into Armenia (visa, border stamp, or valid residence card)
- Birth certificate, parents’ passports, and parents’ marriage certificate (where ethnicity verification is needed)
- Documents specific to your category (enrollment letter, business registration, proof of family relationship, etc.)
If a representative is filing on your behalf, a notarized power of attorney and their ID are also required. All non-Armenian documents must be legalized and translated.

Timeline and Fees for Temporary Residence in Armenia
Once your application is submitted to the Migration and Citizenship Service, a decision is issued within 30 days. The standard state duty is 105,000 AMD (free for applicants under 18). Payment can be made online via the state e-payments portal, at a bank, or on-site at a payment terminal.
If approved, your residence card is collected from the Unified Public Services Office at 3 Vazgen Sargsyan Street. If the application is refused, you have the right to appeal to the Prime Minister’s office within the legal timeframe.
